Question by caligirl: some questions about FACEBOOK i dont get it. . . . ?
ok so, when someone is on chat, but its “idle” (ya know the little crescent moon symbol) does that mean that they are online, but just not on facebook? or does it mean they walked away from the computer for a long time?

which one do i click so people cant see that im online: “go offline”, or “pop out chat”?. . . . (im thinking its go offline)

also facebook etiquette: do you think its rude when youre having a full on conversation with someone on chat, and they just say “gtg” and get offline? like its totally understandable if you have to go, but i think its rude when they dont even wait for you to say “ok” or “bye” or respond at all, or if they just all together get offline without saying anything at all. . . . i think its kinda the same thing as hanging up on someone when youre talking on the phone, what do YOU think??

That moon sigh means that you have not touched Facebook for a long time , may be you are playing a game and the Facebook is minimized

And yup it is rude , they could atleast write bye unless someone’s gonna rape them

idle is when they haven’t touched facebook in a while. like if they left it logged in and went to eat, sleep, etc. so if they are idle, there is a good chance that they won’t reply to a chat message

    it is “go offline”
pop out chat is just if you want to chat fullscreen, in a bigger window

it depends on who you are talking to. if it is someone you don’t usually talk to, it might seem a bit rude. but i think it should be fine if it’s one of your good friends, they will understand

idle means they are logged on but havent done anything on facebook for at least 10 minutes.
and theres not reallly facebook etiquette. if me or one of my friends have to go we just write g2g bye and log off.
