Question by Toreo: How can you tell if someone online is real?
Before you go judging me, I haven’t done anything stupid.
I met this guy on omegle – he said his name was Marc and he was twenty-three and from Germany. We talked for about two or three hours before we exchanged Facebook profile URLs (mine is very private so you cannot see much). He added me and we said goodnight. I haven’t decided whether or not to add him yet.
His profile is a bit suspicious. His picture looks real but he only had ten friends. I asked him about that before and he said that most German students use a “German Facebook” called StudiVZ. I googled it and it turns out that it’s real. But then I looked into the friends – they’re all girls and from all over the world. Even if he is real, he probably does this to a lot of girls (ten to be exact).
Even so, there’s that “too good to be true” feel to it. I’m just being cautious. It would be great if he was real but I don’t want to get my hopes up.
Is there anyway to tell whether or not someone is real for sure? Are there some possible signs?

he’s just having fun. don’t think much of it at all. girls get attached much quicker and guys take advantage all the time.

Since 2005 we have provided graphics and layouts and profile tweaks for myspace. We no longer support Myspace profiles. Myspace is dead. We have transitioned... So now, you can pimp your Facebook.
You can’t be sure whether someone is ever real or not on the internet. If you are happy talking to them then carry on.
Want to meet a “real” guy?
1) Turn off the computer
2) Go outside
3) Be nice to people
If you’re meeting people online, facebook, whatever, I’d say the chances that you’ll be mislead/disappointed/whatever are about 95%. Good luck.
Hmm, I wouldn’t add him. He sounds suspicious so I’d leave it and if you do talk to him talk to him on omegle. Facebook displays alot of private info & I wouldn’t show it to a guy you hardly even know let alone met. But yeah, hope I helped.

to be honest, there are no possible signs. the only sure sign is meeting him in person. however you can always video chat and be sure to start in the friend zone before anything

go somewhere and meet guys. real guys and im not judging but this process is SOOO much easier than the others. then you wouldnt have to be worrying about this stuff. [:
There is no trusty guide or list of tips that can help you determine of someone is real or not. ANYONE can decieve you in the internet, its unavoidable.
So you can either keep doing what you’re doing, or be straight forward and meet people outside of the computer screen who arw guarenteed to be real.
