In this current cyber world, it is hard to just say that everything is safe and virus free. However, I have been playing this game for quite a while ( level 27 now ) and so far, it is ok. Once in a while it may “disconnect” but so far, there isn’t any major problem.
Virus or not, I find this game very addictive and in order not to get tired of it, we bought bigger pot of land and start “designing” our field. Hope you enjoy the game more than keep worrying about virus. Try it, it is nice if you got lots of friends to play alone and becoming your ” neighbours ” Cheers.

Since 2005 we have provided graphics and layouts and profile tweaks for myspace. We no longer support Myspace profiles. Myspace is dead. We have transitioned... So now, you can pimp your Facebook.
I play farm town as well! But only lvl 19.. I don’t think the application have any virus at all.. If so.. FB developers will be on their backs for sure >.< Most ppl who create applications are mid size companies. I don't think they will put their business in stake.. there's really no point to do so =)
Anyway.. other than Farm Town, i also play a game called battlestation on facebook. You pilot a ship, gain experience, gain lvl and upgrade your ship for higher lvls! A very addictive game with good animation. Maybe you want to give it a try =D

This did happen to me and after looking around, it seems like it’s happening to other people. While on Farmtown, I got a bunch of pop-ups from something called “Spyware Protect 2009″ saying I needed to buy some software because I had malware on my computer (DON’T click on anything because Spyware Protect 2009 is the virus, just keep closing it!). Apparently, if you download it, it’ll scan your computer and “find” malware, which it actually put there itself, and tell you to buy the software to get rid of it.
I read somewhere to download Superantispyware (www.superantispyware.com) and malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org/). They both have free versions, and seemed to do the trick.
